Cufflinks of a modest design and size, inspired by some of the earliest Celtic designs from pre-history. The fine geometric pattern evokes order and eternity. Size 13mm square.

C-CCL02 Carved Celtic Knot

Evoking the firm and instantly recognisable carved knots found on sculpture across early medieval Scotland, these cufflinks partly take their inspiration from one of the side panels of the Govan Sarcophagus, sacred capital of the Brythonic Kingdom of Strathclyde. Size 18mm square.

C-CCL03 Celtic Cross

Celtic Crosses were distinguished by their ‘nimbus’, a surrounding ring and were found throughout early medieval Christian Britain, primarily those parts influenced by ‘Celtic Christianity’: Ireland, Scotland, Northumbria, Wales, Cornwall and the West Country. It is composed of the intricate interlaced knotwork patterns found throughout the culturally Celtic parts of early medieval Britain, represented eternity and the twisting threads of fate. Size 18mm square.

Inspired by some of the finest later works of celtic art, added to a dash of the patterns used on a Highlander’s targe, in these cufflinks woven threads dance round a four pointed star, each point made of a trefold knot. Diameter 18mm square.

C-CCL06 Celtic Wave

Also known as compass work, the wave is one of the earliest patters seen in celtic art, the earliest examples dating to 500BC. This was the age when the celtic-speaking peoples and their many cultures were prominent throughout western Europe.Diameter 18mm square.

The trefoil knot is one of the most recognisable pieces of celtic knotwork. Diameter 18mm square.

These cufflinks are inspired by the ‘key patterns’ seen on many examples of pictish carving, such as the Aberlemno Cross, the Hilton Stone or the Cadboll stone. Measures 17mm by 17mm.
