Inside our Glasgow workshops
A kilt begins at the cutting table; a sporran takes shape through leatherwork; a clan crest passes from artwork into metal. These are the crafts behind the Gaelic Themes collection, practised in our Glasgow workshops.
At the cutting table
Pattern lines are marked onto the fabric before the pieces are cut with shears. In kiltmaking, the tartan and the balance of the pleats shape the finished garment; in tailoring, the cut gives a jacket its line. Machining and hand finishing follow, according to the construction chosen.

Highland tailoring
Tartan and tailoring cloth are shaped into kilts, jackets and formalwear, with care given to fit, proportion and the clean fall of the garment.
Sporrans & leatherwork
From supple leather to the choice of lining and fittings, a sporran comes together through careful cutting, stitching and assembly. Texture and detail give each design its distinctive character.
Clan crests & metalwork
A clan crest carries a personal connection to Scottish heritage. We pay close attention to the heraldic detail, preserving the character of the design as it takes shape in metal.
From crest to casting
A crest begins as artwork, its fine lines developed through modelling and casting before the piece is polished and finished. The original design guides the detail of the crest and its motto through each stage. The photograph shows molten metal being poured into a mould in our Glasgow workshop.
Materials chosen with care
Our fabrics come exclusively from the finest mills in Scotland and across the UK, selected for their quality, character and drape. Alongside supple leather and finely finished metal, they give our pieces their distinctive feel.
