Competitive Scottish Highland Dancing emerged in the nineteenth century, being the marriage of traditional Gaelic dance and modern ballet. It was especially influenced by the sword dance, which was first mentioned in Scotland in the 1440s. Highland Dancing is a staple of the modern Highland Games.
Stands 9cm in height and is cast from high quality 100% lead-free pewter.
Presented on a base of polished wood, using off-cuts from our bagpipe workshops.
