Brian Boru was High King of Ireland, who came close to unifying all of the island under one figurehead, but was killed in his moment of victory at the Battle of Clontarf in 1014.

The Sheriffmuir Doublet is a traditional piece of evening wear, worn with a kilt and with high collar and gauntlet cuffs. In the past this was usually worn with a large lace jabot, although increasingly it is worn with a necktie or rouche tie (as shown) under the waistcoat.
