V-MTMPC Prince Charlie

This stylish, formal evening jacket can be worn to all formal functions where a black tie is requested such as weddings, dances and fancy dinner receptions. The Prince Charlie was developed from older military mess jackets, but has evolved by itself as an iconic piece of Higlandwear. Our Prince Charlie Jackets and Vests are tailored in the UK using the finest quality barathea wool cloth, although can also be made in tweed and even tartan.

V-MTMAR Argyll

The Argyll is a traditional one-button fastening kilt jacket, with gauntlet cuffs and scalloped pockets. It is the standard day-wear kilt jacket and versatile for a variety of semi formal or formal occasions. This iconic jacket has been the gold standard in Highlandwear since the nineteenth century. Our Argyll Jacket and Waistcoat can be made in formal barathea, tweeds and even tartan.

The Braemar is a variation on the traditional one-button fastening Argyll kilt jacket. Instead of the Argyll’s gauntlet cuffs, it has a distinctive three button arrangement along the sleeve.  Like the Argyll, the Braemar is the standard day-wear kilt jacket, which is versatile for a variety of semi formal or formal occasions. The Wallace is a modern Kilt Jacket, designed for a variety of formal, semi-formal and even business occasions. Stripped of any fussy details, this is a sharp piece of bespoke tailoring. The Wallace can be worn with or without a 5 button waistcoat, although it is usually accompanied with a belt and buckle set when a waistcoat is not worn. The Traditional Kilkenny Jacket can be worn with or without a 5 button vest and is usually accompanied with a belt and buckle set when a waist coat is not worn. The Brian Boru Kilt Jacket is a variant of the Prince Charlie, designed to give a distinctive look to Irishmen wishing to wear a kilt. Our Brian Boru Jackets and Waistcoats are tailored in Scotland using the finest quality 15oz barathea wool cloth. This stylish, formal evening jacket can be worn to all formal functions where a black tie is requested such as weddings, dances and fancy dinner receptions. Brian Boru was High King of Ireland, who came close to unifying all of the island under one figurehead, but was killed in his moment of victory at the Battle of Clontarf in 1014.

V-MTMSH Sheriffmuir Doublet

The Sheriffmuir Doublet is a traditional piece of evening wear, worn with a kilt and with high collar and gauntlet cuffs. In the past this was usually worn with a large lace jabot, although increasingly it is worn with a necktie or rouche tie (as shown) under the waistcoat. The Sheriffmuir also takes a shoulder plaid for more formal occasions.
